The proposed delay comes amid Thailand’s $14.3 billion ambitious digital wallet program, aimed at reigniting the sluggish economy in this country.
According to a report, a mobile app will transfer 10,000 baht ($280) to every recipient under this program and is projected later on reach targeting no less than fifty million Thai people.
However details on how blockchain was used were not yet known, the program has been criticized for its fiscal pressure.
Prime Minister Thavisin guarantees caution in the management and transparency through data-driven viability. Despite the missing deadline, however, the government continues to move forward with this program scheduled for launch at some point after May.
The financing will be achieved through a once-off 500 billion baht borrowing coupled with a capacity development fund of another 100 billion towards automation and innovation.
