The Pi Network has launched the great Pi Commerce Hackathon. Developers worldwide are invited to develop a commerce app that links the local business market with the Pi community.
After the success of PiFest in December 2023, this hackathon intends to leverage the energy of consumers who use Pi for transactions among themselves locally.
The Pi Core Team also offers a commerce app prototype that supports the developers as an essential tool. The participants will create an application to make the discoverability and connections between local businesses and Pi users possible.
This app has many key features, such as a searchable database, business profiles, menus, loyalty programs, and Pi payment integration.
All interested developers must also subscribe to the updates and register via the mailing list. The hackathon will start on February 1st, 2024, and end with the declaration of the winner’s app on Pi Day, March 14th, 2024.
The winning creation will receive worldwide recognition during the Pi Day celebration and could get backing from the team in charge of developing Pi, including servers.
Users must abide by the Pi Network’s rules, such as utilizing their provided SDKs for making payments and authentication. So many apps should be functional, privacy-preserved, and deployed on the Testnet. Developers will submit their apps through the Pi Developer Portal to be accessible on the Pi Browser.
The Pi Open Source (PiOS) license is recommended to the developers, which fosters global cooperation and localization on the way for a diverse community. This strategy is in line with the Pi Network’s Open Network model, making its ecosystem much more accessible and also versatile.
