Saga DAO, a community-driven fan club associated with Solana’s popular mobile phone, experienced a significant loss on Wednesday when a hacker stole 750 SOL, equivalent to around $60,000, from their treasury.
The hacker specifically targeted zkRedDevil, the pseudonymous founder of Saga DAO. According to a post on Twitter, zkRedDevil disclosed that they fell victim to a “remote hack” on their personal computer, leading to the unauthorized withdrawal of both their personal and the group’s SOL funds.
Despite the intended multisig protections, the wallet used by zkRedDevil did not provide the expected security.
Following a significant financial gain, the founders of Saga DAO intensified their work to establish formal rules and governance systems. These mechanisms aimed to empower owners of Saga phones, specialized Android devices with crypto features on the Solana blockchain.
