Co-founder of the Three Arrows Capital defunct cryptocurrency hedge fund, Su Zhu, was released from a Singapore prison last month after serving 3 months for noncooperation with liquidators.
In his recent post on social media, Zhu shared some thoughts about jail time, which he described as overall happiness.
While stating he would not highly recommend going to prison, Zhu commented positively on several aspects of imprisonment. He said he appreciated the spartan lifestyle and ample time for reading and exercise.Â
The lack of internet, alcohol, and caffeine also facilitated good sleep, according to Zhu. After adjusting, he felt a “magical feeling” and kinship with his ancestors from the simple lifestyle.
Zhu’s Three Arrows Capital collapsed last July after defaulting on a $667 million loan. The firm owed creditors $3.3 billion when it entered liquidation.
Zhu was arrested in September for attempting to leave Singapore without cooperating with liquidators identifying assets. Since his release, Zhu has promoted a new crypto project called Ox. Fun on social media.
