Former Solana Labs engineers and executives have established Anza, a development firm. Anza plans to launch Agave, a new validator client for Solana, expanding the number of client teams on the network.
Solana began with single-client software that developers used to access the network. However, over time, it has grown to include clients from Jito, Tinydancer, and Solana Labs.
Jump Crypto is developing another much-awaited Firedancer client. Anza will make a contribution to this field by introducing the Agave client, which is a fork of the Solana Labs client. According to its website, Agave is anticipated to launch on the mainnet later this year.
Anza announced that in addition to contributing to core engineering, it would “focus on ecosystem-wide improvements such as token extensions and Solana permissioned environments.”
Anza has revealed that several key members of its founding team were previously employed at Solana Labs, including Jeff Washington, the company’s former engineer and future CEO.
Washington posted a statement on X stating, “After 3 years at Solana Labs today I’m excited to announce Anza, a Solana-focused dev shop, where I will be leading as CEO.”
Anza has appointed Jed Halfon as its chief strategy officer. Halfon was Solana Labs’ previous strategy manager.
