Despite encountering international sanctions, Belarus is persisting in the creation of a blockchain platform intended for its central bank digital currency (CBDC), known as the digital ruble (Belarusian ruble). The nation intends to utilize this digital currency to facilitate cross-border transactions.
The government-owned Center of Bank Technologies initiated the construction of the CBDC platform in January and is currently in the process of recruiting developers, as reported by the local newspaper Ekonomicheskaya Gazeta, and the platform is set to be developed using the open-source Hyperledger Fabric blockchain.
The Center of Bank Technologies’ official website has posted a job vacancy targeting backend developers with expertise in Hyperledger Fabric and Linux, along with practical experience in smart contract development.
