Mythical Games announced a settlement with Fenix Games and its founding members. The conflict began when Mythical Games filed a lawsuit against Fenix Games founders, alleging the misappropriation of a strategic business plan.
The founders involved in the lawsuit, Rudy Koch, Matthew Nutt, and Chris Ko, have since departed from Fenix Games. However, no financial transaction took place regarding the previously claimed $150 million funding from Phoenix Group and Cypher Capital.
The lawsuit originated from allegations by Mythical Games against its former executives. While still employed at the company, these executives allegedly used insider knowledge and connections to establish a competitor firm, Fenix Games. This was seen as a direct violation of trust and a misuse of resources intended for Mythical Ventures, a fund to support blockchain game development.
Despite the announcement by Fenix Games in November 2022 about securing substantial funding to support blockchain game publishing and development, the settlement reveals that these plans did not materialize as projected.
