According to a report, a case is currently being heard in a London court for Craig Wright, an Australian computer scientist who purports himself as Satoshi Nakamoto- the creator of Bitcoin. COPA counters the point seeking to prove that Wright is a fraud, who assembles false evidence in order for his thesis.
Supreme Court hearing, it depends on the ability of Wright to prove his ownership over early Bitcoin addresses linked with Nakamoto. The scientist says that he developed Bitcoin back in 2008 but never revealed moved any coins linked with their key addresses, despite issues from the community.
COPA, backed by tech giants such as Meta and Jack Dorsey’s Block Company, claims Wright has falsified papers while also tampering with evidence to reinforce his argument. They state that his behavior is harmful to the progress of Bitcoin as it curtails innovation through lawsuits.
The length of the trial is estimated to be about a month while judgments will come in at an arbitrary time. The result could have profound ramifications on Bitcoin’s future and its intellectual property rights.
