Community Gaming, a premier web3 tournament platform, unveiled its strategic alliance with Tools for Humanity, a key player in the Worldcoin initiative led by Alex Blania and Sam Altman.
This partnership is set to significantly bolster the reliability and safety of the numerous tournaments organized on CG every month.
This additional feature will allow organizers to mandate that registrants authenticate their accounts through World ID before signing up for a tournament, thereby improving the credibility of accounts and guaranteeing that each participant in a World ID-verified tournament is a distinct individual.
Additionally, users who have completed verification will be distinguished by a badge on their GamerID profile, indicating their verified status.
Chris Gonsalves, CEO of Community Gaming, stated that their World ID verification doesn’t mandate using the Orb. Users have the option to verify themselves using a mobile device instead. App creators have various security levels at their disposal, which may include iris scanning with or without the Orb.
Community Gaming Latin America Regional Manager Bryan Mier said, “Verifying the identity of participants in online esports events poses a recurring challenge—confirming that the person behind device is indeed who they claim to be.”
He added, “With the backing of esports communities, our aim is to foster greater trust in online event participation and solidify a core dynamic of esports participation.”
