The open-source blockchain developer IOTA Foundation has issued a formal warning on X (formerly known as Twitter) about a rise in airdrop scams where users are targeted with deceptive URLs.
Warnings about possible threats, they stress the necessity of not clicking on such links and strongly recommend against sharing private keys or mnemonic phrases.
The Foundation clarifies that there is no officially endorsed web wallet or online wallet from IOTA. Users are advised to protect their digital assets and verify information directly from reliable sources.
In the wake of continuous scams targeting cryptocurrency users, the community is urged to keep security as the top priority and be wary of uninvited airdrops and suspicious links.
