Adrien Treccani, the CEO, and Peter DeMeo, the Chief Product Officer, of Metaco, the cryptocurrency custody firm acquired by Ripple in May 2023, have departed from the company.
A spokesperson from Ripple confirmed their departure, expressing gratitude for the exceptional custody business established by Adrien and his team, along with his leadership in seamlessly integrating the custody team and solution with Ripple post-acquisition last year.
The spokesperson repeated the significance of custody to Ripple’s expanding business, affirming the commitment to delivering top-notch enterprise crypto solutions globally.
Metaco had emerged as a top choice for European banks seeking support in digital asset custody before its acquisition by Ripple. Metaco recently secured HSBC as a client, although reports were suggesting that banks were reassessing their connection with Metaco following the acquisition.
