Sports Illustrated Tickets (SI Tickets), the ticketing arm of the famous sports magazine, has reintegrated the NFT ticketing platform, Box Office, from Polygon NFT to the Avalanche blockchain. This decision is said to have taken place just a few months when the platform officially launched on Polygon.
Even though the precise reason for the move remains undisclosed, Emin Gün Sirer, Avalanche founder, took a shot at Polygon, saying that “Sports Illustrated needed a coin that functions”. The latter prompted a renewed rivalry between the two projects, with the blockchain game Pegaxy migrating from Polygon to Avalanche just like the Sports Illustrated token in December 2023.
Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal has previously been critical of Avalanche for its purported shortcomings which according to him are the main differences between the two networks.
Though they replaced it, SI Tickets assures this fact that Box Office on Avalanche will be better than usual and more about interactions with guests. This is due to the fact that Avalanche as we know it has features that will make interactive events more fun, like collectibles, highlights, and loyalty benefits.
