Greg Solano, a.k.a. Garga, the pseudonymous co-founder of NFT powerhouse Yuga Labs, has announced that he will be joining the company as CEO.
Daniel Alegre, who served as Activision Blizzard’s CEO for around 10 months, is stepping down from the position.
The Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection and ApeCoin, oik are two of Yuga Labs’ most well-known NFT projects. The business also acquired CryptoPunks, 10KTF, Meebits, and, most recently, PROOF collective, the organization that created the Moonbirds NFT project.
Several of Solano’s initial projects are hinted at in his announcement post. These include creating a distinct Yuga subsidiary called the Bored Ape Yacht Club, expanding on his communication regarding the Otherside metaverse’s current state and impending third test, and creating more mass-market video games.
Recent competition for the Bored Ape Yacht Club has come from Pudgy Penguins, a competing project that this week momentarily outperformed the Bored Apes in terms of floor pricing.
In his post, Solano talks about “stepping back in” as CEO, yet the only people who have been publicly called that are Alegre and Nicole Muniz, the CEO who came before him.
