Charles Hoskinson, creator of the Cardano blockchain, has unexpectedly seriously responded to a recent lighthearted proposal for an MMA fight between him and Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin.
While initially suggested in jest by a crypto enthusiast, Hoskinson stated “I’d train very hard for that one,” indicating a willingness to take on the challenge.
The rivalry between Hoskinson and Buterin dates back to their collaboration on Ethereum in 2013, which ended when Hoskinson departed over disagreements on organizational structure. He went on to found Cardano as a competitor to Ethereum.
The ongoing competition between the Cardano and Ethereum networks revolves around dominating the smart contract platform space. While Ethereum currently leads in decentralized finance, Cardano has been gaining ground with its focus on scalability, efficiency and decentralization.
Whether this proposed MMA fight manifests into reality is still uncertain. However, it highlights the competitive spirit driving innovation in the blockchain industry between these two historic figures and their respective networks.
