Microsoft and the International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology (iCreate) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which was made possible by the Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY) to support the development of AI businesses in India.
The initiative will evaluate 1100 AI innovators from throughout India to select the AI Most Valuable Players (MVPs). Priority subjects for the program include healthcare, financial inclusion, sustainability, education, agriculture, and smart cities.
In the second phase, the initiative will pick and grow 100 Indian businesses to use Azure OpenAI for development, and the top 25 will get go-to-market assistance from Microsoft’s Global Network to create cutting-edge, competitive solutions on a global scale.
Through Microsoft’s Learning Management System, 11,000 innovators, entrepreneurs, and young Indians worldwide will have access to AI skilling opportunities thanks to a partnership between Microsoft and iCreate.
After finishing, participants will obtain Microsoft certifications that are recognized throughout the world, greatly increasing their employability and capacity to advance in their careers.
This Memorandum of Understanding is in line with the goals that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi stated at his meeting with Microsoft CEO and Chairman Satya Nadella last year.
Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Jal Shakti, and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, oversaw the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding.
He stated that this partnership will support and revolutionize AI startups not only in larger cities but also in smaller towns and villages.
India has seen a flourishing ecosystem of AI startups ever since the AI boom. These companies are fostering creativity and creating practical solutions across a range of industries by utilizing cutting-edge technology like artificial intelligence (AI).
Thanks to government initiatives, venture capitalists, and incubator support, Indian AI companies have become major players in the worldwide market.
