In their Technology Strategy 2030 report, Nokia emphasizes the need to develop a future network architecture to accommodate the evolving market for emerging technologies.
The company predicts a 22%–25% increase in network demand from 2022 to 2030, citing the growing adoption of generative AI and virtual reality devices as key drivers.
The company’s plan entails significant investment in its range of network equipment and services in the upcoming years.
Among the six ecosystems Nokia will target, the Internet of Value stands out, emphasizing decentralization, blockchain, and smart contracts. In the realm of the metaverse, Nokia’s attention will be on enhancing human capabilities, spatial computing, and split processing.
The other ecosystems in focus comprise AI, Industry 5.0, the Application Programming Interface (API) economy, and the cloud continuum.
