The Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA) raised its accusations against computer scientist Craig Wright. COPA alleges that Wright forged documents in his bid to prove himself as Nakamoto, aiming to affect the ongoing trial’s outcome.
COPA’s counsel, Jonathan Hough, asserted that evidence presented during the trial clearly demonstrates that Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto. Hough pointed to Wright’s alleged forgeries and dishonesty, claiming that he edited the Bitcoin white paper in November 2023. COPA claims that these actions are symbolic of Wright’s falsehoods and fraudulent behavior.
The outcome of the trial holds implications for various legal battles initiated by Wright against members of the crypto community. COPA aims to obtain order relief to prevent Wright from further declaring his identity as Satoshi Nakamoto. As the trial nears its conclusion, both Wright’s defense team and Bitcoin developers are set to deliver their closing statements before Judge James Mellor’s ruling.
