The NFT project Milady’s presale of its new meme coin, Milady wif hat, on the Solana network, saw remarkable success, gathering 88,888 Solana (SOL) or $18 million in funding in just 2 hours. Originally planned for 24 hours, the presale closed early due to overwhelming demand.
The Milady team expressed gratitude for the support, announcing that any surplus Solana raised would be fully refunded. However, this success was marred by a security breach.
On March 16, Charlotte Fang, the founder of Milady and Remilia NFT projects, revealed a significant hack that caused millions in damages. The breach affected treasury addresses and connected wallets, with Fang attributing it to unknown malware infiltrating her password manager.
Experts from Dumpster DAO and PeckShield confirmed the breach, noting suspicious transactions following a change in treasury ownership. This incident follows a previous theft of $1 million in September 2023, along with hacking incidents involving Milady’s social media accounts.
The Milady team is working to address the security breach while assuring investors of their commitment to security and transparency.
