Montenegrin authorities filed a petition against the extradition of Do Kwon, co-founder of Terraform Labs, to South Korea. They contend that the appellate court acted inappropriately by declining an appeal from Kwon’s legal team and that the Supreme Court of Montenegro, not its lower court, has the authority on this case.
Kwon, who is Korean by nationality, might be subject to criminal trials at home about the disgrace of Terraform Labs (TFL). After a decision was made previously concerning extradition to South Korea, prosecutors think the Supreme Court may turn the decision upside down.
In March 2023, Kwon was caught in Montenegro with fake travel documents on his person, which would land him in jail for four months. Currently in custody, Kwon’s extradition destiny is still in the dark, with Montenegrin courts reviewing charges made from South Korea and the United States.
