The Polkadot community has launched a new memecoin called $PINK, injecting some fun and engagement into the ecosystem.
With a total supply of 2.3 billion tokens – a nod to Polkadot’s RGB color code – $PINK has been airdropped to leading parachains and community members.
A significant 12.5% of the tokens have been allocated to 14 qualifying parachains like Moonbeam, Bifrost, and Astar to distribute to their users. But it’s not just about free tokens. $PINK comes packaged with an innovative Play-to-Earn game called PINKDROP.
PINKDROP GAME
PINKDROP is a casual web-based game where players combine bouncing balls representing different parachains to grow the ultimate “Polkadot ball.” 15% of the total $PINK supply is reserved for PINKDROP players, with bonus allocations for sharing high scores on social media. Already the game has seen over 225,000 sessions from 14,000 unique players in just the first month.
The fun doesn’t stop there – 2.5% of tokens go to gaming communities across six games, three from Polkadot and three externals like Shockwaves.ai. This push for GameFi integration demonstrates Polkadot’s desire to be a gaming blockchain heavyweight.
With plans for a new PINKDROP league mode with daily tournaments for $PINK prizes, the community memecoin is laying the groundwork to boost awareness and drive engagement in an innovative, gamified way. $PINK represents the vibrant, pioneering spirit of the Polkadot ecosystem.
