Munchables, a popular GameFi application operating on the Ethereum layer-2 solution Blast, has fallen victim to a staggering $62 million exploit. The official announcement from Munchables’ team, posted on March 26 at 9:33 pm UTC, confirmed the breach in their protocol.
According to Blastscan data, the exploiter’s wallet currently holds a balance of $62.45 million in Ether (ETH). Records indicate that the exploit occurred at 9:26 am UTC, with the attacker extracting a total of 17,413 ETH from the Munchables protocol, as per DeBank data.
The exploiter utilized the Orbiter Bridge to convert Blast ETH back into native ETH, transferring $10,700 worth of ETH. Additionally, at 10:05 pm UTC, the wallet transferred an additional 1 ETH to a new wallet address. Munchables, known for its NFT creature collection, trading, and social features, also allowed players to stake Blast ETH and Blast USD to earn in-game perks. However, Munchables has promised to compensate the affected.
