Copper, the crypto custody firm, has expressed remorse for a recent event that sparked widespread criticism. The firm, known for its financial custodianship in the crypto realm, hosted a gathering where sushi was served in a manner that many found objectionable, using the bodies of minimally dressed models as serving platters.
The firm acknowledges the misalignment of the event’s concept with its core values and is set to reevaluate its event approval protocols. This move is aimed at ensuring future events resonate with the company’s ethos and contribute positively to its corporate image.
The event, which took place at London’s luxurious Mandrake Hotel, was intended to be a sensory exploration for guests but ended up crossing the bounds of propriety, according to company officials.
A third-party event planner organized the event, which featured several performance artists. This included a magician, a mentalist, a palm reader, and a performance with both a male and female artist lying on a table dressed in swimming costumes.
Copper, under the leadership of former UK chancellor Lord Philip Hammond, now faces the task of reinforcing its values and ensuring its partnerships and sponsored events reflect the firm’s respected standing in the industry.
