Elon Musk’s AI company xAI is set to unveil its new AI model, Grok-1.5, on X (formerly Twitter) next week, as announced by Musk on March 28. This update, shared in a post on X, will offer enhanced reasoning and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on coding and math tasks.
Grok-1.5 achieved impressive scores in math benchmarks, including 50.6% on the MATH benchmark and 90% on the GSM8K benchmark. It also scored well on the HumanEval benchmark, showcasing its code generation and problem-solving skills.
Moreover, Grok-1.5 can process longer documents and handle complex prompts while maintaining its instruction-following capacity, making it a versatile tool for users.
xAI previously introduced Grok in November, highlighting its real-time knowledge and witty responses. The decision to open-source Grok aims to democratize AI technology and spur innovation in commercial applications.
This move comes amid Musk’s critiques and legal actions against OpenAI, which he co-founded but left in 2018. xAI’s plans to raise $6 billion in funding underscore the significant costs involved in developing advanced AI models capable of human-like text, image, and code generation.
