SlowMist analysts have expressed concern over a 100-eth transaction originating from an AssangeDAO address, which was directed to a recipient apparently linked to the decentralized autonomous organization (DAO).
On March 10, 2024, a transfer of 100 ETH from the undisclosed Clock Multisig address: (0x5DAEA26517788b1c0DDB0200c6Fa6d8248076143) to a new address stirred up the community, particularly those involved with the AssangeDAO. This has raised worries about a “Soft Rug Pull,” with concerns jointly addressed by SlowMist and RescuETH Rescue in a collaborative article.
AssangeDAO gained attention for its ties to the controversial WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange. Assange, detained since 2010 for releasing sensitive US government documents, faced extradition after a UK High Court ruling in December 2021.
Assange DAO, a “crypto-punk” organization, inspired by ConstitutionDAO, launched a fundraising campaign on JuiceBox to free Julian Assange. They aimed to bid on an NFT called “Clock 1/1,” created by Assange and Pak, which symbolizes his time in prison. The proceeds would support his legal defense and raise awareness of free speech issues.
The fundraising campaign for AssangeDAO, akin to PEOPLE, awarded donors 1 million JUSTICE governance tokens for every 1 ETH contributed, resulting in significant profits due to PEOPLE token value surge.
Notably, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin donated 10 ETH in February. The initial round concluded on February 7, 2022, amassing over 10,500 ETH.
Subsequently, a second round secured 17,422 ETH, eclipsing ConstitutionDAO’s 11,613 ETH, establishing AssangeDAO as JuiceBox’s most funded DAO.

The present status regarding fund transfers and balances is as follows:
SlowMist analysts stressed the importance of transparency in DAO operations, highlighting that the recent transfers have sparked questions, especially regarding where the funds ultimately ended up.
