Ellipsis Labs successfully raises $20 million in a Series A funding round led by Paradigm. The fundraising event marks a pivotal milestone for Ellipsis Labs as it continues to refine its DeFi technological offerings.
Notably, the funding round saw contributions from a diverse group of investors. Electric Capital, alongside notable figures such as Justin Drake and Mike Neuder from the Ethereum Foundation and Sreeram Kannan from EigenLayer, participated. The investment round also drew support from industry luminaries including Anatoly Yakovenko of Solana Labs and Uri Klarman from bloXroute, among others.
Advancing DeFi Technology with Phoenix DEX
Ellipsis Labs is the creator behind Phoenix, an innovative decentralized exchange (DEX) that operates on the Solana blockchain. The platform distinguishes itself by combining the efficiency of traditional order books with the decentralized nature of DeFi, making it accessible and transparent for users.
Phoenix has rapidly become a significant player in the Solana ecosystem. With $14.31 million in total value locked (TVL), it ranks as the eighth largest DEX on the Solana network in terms of TVL, according to data from DeFiLlama. The platform has also processed $238.79 million in transaction volume over the past 24 hours.
A Leap Forward for On-Chain Trade Settlements
One of the standout features of Phoenix is its ability to instantly settle trades, eliminating the need for the “crank” mechanism commonly used in the Solana ecosystem. This approach enhances predictability and stability within the trading environment.
Furthermore, Phoenix ensures full transparency by making all market events data, including limit orders and trade fills, available on-chain. This allows users to access a comprehensive history of the platform’s activities, reinforcing the principles of accessibility, transparency, and auditability.
Ellipsis Labs envisions Phoenix as the initial step towards a more efficient and equitable financial system. This recent funding is expected to accelerate the development of Phoenix and other DeFi projects, paving the way for a financial landscape where decentralized and traditional finance converge.
The successful Series A funding round signals strong confidence from the investment community in the potential of DeFi technologies to transform the financial industry.
