The hacker responsible for the $326 million exploit on Wormhole is now able to claim more than $50,000 worth of W tokens.
According to the user Degen News, around 31,000 W tokens were accumulated based on the transactions conducted by the hacker across four wallets during the February 2022 exploit.
A total of 617 million W tokens were allocated for people who tried the early messaging network on April 3rd. Another influencer named Pland noticed the same flaw the moment it had been published, indicating that the addresses the hackers used had not been excluded from the distribution.
According to the report from the security outlet Rekt News, this incident was the largest crypto theft experienced. Jump Crypto swiftly refunded the entire loss incurred from the incident in February 2022, when a hacker managed to bypass Wormhole’s smart contract to mint 120,000 Wormhole Ether (whETH).
