Astar zkEVM has announced a mainnet upgrade scheduled for Wednesday, April 10. The upgrade, which will also impact the project’s testnet, zKyoto, is poised to deliver a significant boost to the chain’s performance and functionality.
The upcoming enhancement does not require any additional steps from decentralized application developers or end-users. Instead, the onus lies on infrastructure developers to ensure a seamless transition.
According to the announcement, Astar’s native bridge will be unavailable for a brief period of two hours during the upgrade, and the protocol has provided detailed instructions for infrastructure developers to follow.
The announcement comes on the heels of a recent network issue that prompted Astar to collaborate with Polygon and Gelato developers to address the challenges faced. Despite the incident, the project has assured users that their funds remain secure.
While the ASTR token has seen a dip in value, the upcoming mainnet upgrade is expected to bolster investor confidence and drive further growth for the Astar ecosystem.
