The price of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have seen a sharp decline, following the tensions between Iran and Israel.
On Saturday, Iran launched a drone offensive towards Israel in response to an airstrike on an Iranian embassy complex in Syria last week. The attack comes amidst heightened tensions between the two countries.
According to reports, Israeli Defense Forces spokesperson Daniel Hagari confirmed the drone attack, stating that it is expected to “take a number of hours” to reach Israel. In a preemptive measure, Israel’s airspace and Iraq’s airspace have been closed to all flights as the countries prepare to defend against the impending assault.
The drone attack follows an airstrike last week that killed two Iranian generals in Syria, which Iran has accused Israel of orchestrating. In response, Iran has now launched “dozens” of drones, according to a U.S. official.
Despite the escalating situation, Hagari has assured that the Israeli military is “prepared and ready” to defend against the drone attack and respond accordingly. The White House has also pledged to provide support to Israel in its defense against Iran’s aggression.
