Aligned Layer, a startup touted as a “universal verification layer for Ethereum,” has secured a $2.6 million seed funding round. The round was led by Lemniscap, a seasoned firm in the crypto and blockchain space.
Aligned Layer’s innovative approach centers on providing a decentralized ZK Proof verification layer for Ethereum, powered by Eigen Layer’s restaking mechanism. This allows Ethereum stakers to reallocate their ETH and Liquid Staking Tokens to enhance protocol security.
According to the annoucment, the funds will enable Aligned Layer to accelerate its mainnet launch, slated for Q2 2024, and expand operations. As an infrastructure provider, the company aims to lower costs and improve speeds for developers building Ethereum-based applications, including layer-2 networks.
The seed round attracted support from notable investors, including Bankless Ventures, Paper Ventures, and industry leaders.
