Solana co-founder Raj Gokal mentioned Cosmos (ATOM) and Avalanche (AVAX) as two probable blockchains that are at a more advanced stage of collecting sovereign awards.
Sovereign blockchains are governed by a single entity, while public blockchains are consensus-driven egalitarian networks that run cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.
During this TOKEN2049 Dubai 2024, Raj cited the merits of both Cosmos and Avalanche. He identified the consensus upon which Cosmos, the accomplished venture, heavily depended as lacking.
On the other hand, he commended Avalanche for letting the developers determine how they will operate their chains, but he noted that the founder Emin Gün Sirer has not only immense authority but also extreme knowledge in the field.
Despite acknowledging the competition they have, Gokal stressed Solana’s approach to strong competition.
“I think Solana loves competition. We love fierce competition, we love honest competition from people who have ferocity about the ideas they’re bringing to the table,” he stated.
He also recognized Sirer’s aggressiveness and sportsmanship in the crypto realm. Gokal highlighted his admiration for Gün Sirer, the founder, and the valuable role he played in growing the crypto space.
Such information illustrates Solana’s stance that even though it recognizes Cosmos and Avalanche as the present leaders in sovereign blockchains, it embraces healthy competition as one of the forces that further innovation in the crypto industry.
