CEO of Ethereum scaling company, Neel Somani, has scaled back his public role following a sexual misconduct accusation on X platform last week. Somani, however, consistently maintains his innocence, insisting that the allegations are “false. “
Somani admits the charges are crucially important and should be considered with deep and weighty thoughts.He will focus on clearing his name while senior leadership at Eclipse takes over his public duties.
Ethereum Layer-2 chain Eclipse also shared a post on its X platform regarding the same issue,whereby it stated that,
“Eclipse remains committed to maintaining the highest personal and professional standards, including gender equality and fair treatment. The team takes allegations against our CEO, Neel Somani, seriously and believes in the importance of truth.”
Uncertain Future for Eclipse
Though Somani resigns, the fallout of these allegations still lingers in what lies ahead for Eclipse. Public trust is needed for this company to succeed. These allegations, however, cast a dark cloud over the leadership of the company.
Permitting lawful processes to unfold is vital in these case. Only time will tell if he is actually guilty or not.
