Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, the former head of Binance, has hinted he may write a book spilling all the details while serving jail time.
Zhao, who quit as Binance’s CEO in November 2023 after admitting to money laundering charges, took to social media X to tease the potential book project. “I got some “quiet time” coming up. Will use that to write something,” he wrote.
The proposed memoir would follow a similar book called “Going Infinite” by Michael Lewis which told the story of the spectacular rise and fall of Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of failed crypto exchange FTX. Bankman-Fried is now serving 25 years in prison for fraud.
While he wasn’t specific, Zhao had previously discussed plans for something called “Giggle Academy”, an education program aimed at teaching underprivileged kids about finance, blockchain tech, and other subjects.
If Zhao does write a book, it could give an inside look at the crypto world scandals that landed him in jail as a billionaire inmate. For followers of the crypto saga, it may offer a rare chance to learn directly from one of the industry’s disgraced former leaders.
