Degen Chain, a specialized Layer 3 blockchain developed on the Ethereum network for the Degen meme token, has faced major operational issues. The creation of new blocks has ceased, impacting related services.
The issue started at approximately 4:15 p.m. ET on Sunday and was first noticed when block #15524774 failed to proceed. This resulted in over 17 hours of downtime, during which no new transactions could be validated.
This outage has substantially affected several decentralized applications (dApps) and bridge services operating on the Degen Chain. Critical platforms, including Relay Bridge, DegenSwap, Mint Club, and Frogswap, are currently inactive, leaving users unable to execute transactions.
The technical team at Degen Chain has recognized the problem and is working hard to fix it. To speed up the repair process, they are teaming up with Conduit, a platform that supports blockchain operations.
Updates on the progress are awaited. The cause of the downtime has not been disclosed yet, and further details are expected as the investigation continues.
