OpenAI is set to introduce new features for its GPT-4 and ChatGPT models today. Enhancements are expected to integrate reference capabilities similar to Microsoft’s Copilot and Bing Chat, allowing ChatGPT to deliver verified information sources. This move aims to enhance the reliability of AI responses.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman stated that the upcoming updates will not make the platform a direct competitor to Google Search and refuted rumors about the launch of GPT-5 at this event.
In addition, Jim Fan from NVIDIA hinted at a demo for a real-time voice assistant. These include automatic speech recognition (ASR), language model planning, and text-to-speech synthesis, suggesting a significant leap towards more interactive AI systems.
The details will be disclosed in full during OpenAI’s event later today, which promises to clarify the scope and direction of these technological enhancements.
