Amazon-backed Anthropic just announced that its AI Chatbot Claude is now available in Europe, so people and businesses in Europe can use Claude through the web or iOS app. Claude can be accessed via the iOS app and web application and has “strong levels of comprehension and fluency” in different European languages like French, German, Spanish, and Italian.
Anthropic, the company behind Claude, launched its most powerful system, Claude 3, in the United States in March 2024. Before this, people in Europe could only use Claude by using a VPN.
Then, Anthropic released the Claude API in Europe, which lets developers use Anthropic’s AI models in their apps or websites.
People on Twitter have been talking about Claude’s arrival in Europe. They say that while ChatGPT is good at reasoning, Claude is better at writing.
In a comparison between two chatbots, Claude 3 and ChatGPT, both were asked to write a short poem about Europe using their free versions. Claude’s poem was more coherent and told a complete story within just a few stanzas, while ChatGPT’s poem had nice rhymes but felt more like a collection of phrases rather than a connected narrative. Claude’s writing quality stood out as it was more accurate and engaging.
