NiceHash, an industry-leading proof-of-work (PoW) hashrate marketplace, is set to host the first-ever Bitcoin conference in Maribor, Slovenia. Scheduled for November 8-9, 2024, NiceHashX will celebrate the marketplace’s tenth anniversary.
The conference aims to introduce Maribor and Slovenia as key cryptocurrency business hubs, offering a significant entry point to the European crypto market. With over 1,000 businesses in Slovenia accepting Bitcoin as a payment method, the event will also highlight local companies that actively use the technology.
Spotlight on Local Enterprises
The conference will feature various educational programs and stages dedicated to showcasing local Maribor companies utilizing Bitcoin technology. Vladimir Hozjan, CEO of NiceHash, expressed excitement about the potential role of the conference in promoting Bitcoin adoption. Attendees will witness Bitcoin being used by everyday people and learn from some of the brightest speakers in the industry.
NiceHashX 2024 will host an impressive line-up of speakers, including Saifedean Ammous, author of “The Bitcoin Standard,” former Cointelegraph reporter Joe Hall (Nakamoto), BTC Prague conference CEO Martin Kuchař, Bitcoin FilmFest cofounder Pierre Corbin, and CASA CTO Jameson Lopp.
Discussions will cover topics such as European Bitcoin adoption and regulation, the mining and energy landscape, and the future of exchanges amidst increased regulation.
Additionally, NiceHash has soft-launched a Bitcoin payment solution with local merchants, which will be demonstrated at the conference and throughout the city of Maribor. This initiative showcases NiceHash’s commitment to fostering Bitcoin usage and expanding its network infrastructure.
