Ethereum’s Layer-2 scaling network, Blast, has set June 26 as the expected date for its BLAST token airdrop, a delay from the initial May estimate. The airdrop allocation will be increased to compensate.
The network is planning to work with two distributions of Blast Gold points early on before the initial token launch, benefiting dApp creators and early users who bridged funds to the network pre-mainnet launch in February, totaling over $2.3 billion. Blast aims to be akin to Blur, which generated $818 million in revenue for the community last year.
“We know this is past our initial estimate of May, and we’re sorry for the delay. The airdrop allocation will be increased to account for this.”
Although a bit behind schedule, the forthcoming Blast token airdrop on Ethereum’s layer-2 network is destined to favor token holders in addition to creating a strong foundation for the network’s future engagement with its users via incentives.
