The well-known cryptocurrency payment platform Ripple Labs has partnered with Evmosto, the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-based protocol from Cosmos, to create an XRP-ledger EVM sidechain.
In addition, they will work together with Peersyst, a cryptocurrency software company, as part of this partnership. The sidechain will be constructed using evmOS, an adaptable and modular tech stack created by Evmos, and it aims to give native Web3 enterprise applications and their EVM compatibility top priority.
A production-ready, modular solution that supports Web3 Enterprise and EVM is called evmOS. Because it is constructed with the Cosmos SDK, projects can extend the capabilities of standard smart contract platforms and personalize their logic.
evmOS enables EVM compatibility and full customizability on top of the Cosmos SDK. It provides Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol (IBC) access to more than 60 Cosmos SDK chains. The XRPL EVM sidechain complies with industry standards and joins the interchain, one of the most flexible web3 ecosystems.
Additional modules and features in this tech stack are intended to make the EVM for Cosmos SDK implementation easier. Its compatible features include full customizability, access to the dApp Store, EVM extensions, and IBC functionality.
As per the post, evmOS prioritizes native, cross-chain applications and is built with the CometBFT consensus engine. The modular design provides XRPL developers unprecedented flexibility.
By being a part of the interchain ecosystem, the XRPL can now operate on more than 90 linked chains, encouraging cooperation and mutual benefit between various blockchain initiatives.
In a similar vein, the interchaining of XRP Ledger enables the XRPL community to obtain a passport that grants access to all Cosmos SDK chains. This gives users the flexibility to communicate with any application they choose.
