P2P.org, an Ethereum blockchain validation platform, launched a new Restaking API on May 27, automating Ether restaking on decentralized platforms like EigenLayer to optimize rewards.
CEO Alex Esin highlighted the API’s value for intermediaries, enabling them to stake ETH and restake it on EigenLayer seamlessly. This move aims to enhance clients’ services by maximizing staking rewards and airdrop opportunities.
Ethereum staking involves locking up 32 ETH to validate transactions under the proof-of-stake protocol introduced in 2022. Restaking, pioneered by EigenLayer in April 2024, lets users stake ETH on multiple protocols simultaneously, bolstering network security and expanding utility.
P2P.org’s Restaking API offers diverse rewards, including staking and restaking rewards, incentives from Secret Shared Validators, future rewards from EigenLayer, and airdrops from Actively Validated Services, accessible through a unified integration.
While restaking presents new opportunities, concerns persist about increased risk due to repeated allocations to similar validators, as noted by Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin in 2023.
P2P.org’s new Restaking API signals a strategic move towards optimizing Ethereum rewards and enhancing network security through innovative staking solutions.
