Steve Chen, the co-founder of YouTube, is supporting the memecoin project associated with one of the first YouTube cat videos that appeared in 2005. The meme coin, named Pajamas (PAJAMAS), operates on the Solana blockchain.
The video was uploaded back then in 2005, the content in the play shows Chen’s cat, Pajamas, performing the Nick Drake song. Even though it has been 20 years since the passing of the cat, the memecoin project aims to celebrate it. Despite not being initially implicated, Chen joined after being tagged by many users.
His participation in Web3 world through Pajamas has exposed him to trust issues within the space.
“Whenever I want to meet someone important or influential in the Web3 world, there is at least one person that warns me never to meet or talk to this person.” He added: “Every day on Telegram, there are at least 25+ new people trying to find a way to steal my money.”
However, a high number of cat-related memes and tokens within the Crypto community has shown huge growth with projects like CatCoin(CAT) and popcat (POPCAT) gaining traction.
