Stride, a leading liquid staking protocol for the Cosmos/IBC ecosystem, has announced a strategic integration with Namada, a blockchain project focused on multichain shielded asset protection. This collaboration aims to unlock industry-leading data privacy for users of Stride’s liquid staked tokens (LSTs).
The integration empowers Stride LST holders to leverage Namada’s multi-asset shielded pool (MASP) and benefit from enhanced data privacy. Users can shield their LSTs while simultaneously earning NAM tokens as rewards for contributing to Namada’s shielded network.
Namada’s technology offers a unique value proposition: users can hold and transact shielded tokens and NFTs while maintaining complete control over their personal data exposure. This capability extends to interactions on transparent blockchains and even when setting up new accounts.
Stride’s major LSTs will be eligible for both staking rewards and NAM shielding rewards. This means users can earn on their Cosmos tokens while enjoying industry-leading data protection guarantees.
“Namada and Stride protocol will work together synergistically,” said John Galt, a Stride contributor, in a press release shared with The Crypto Times. “With Stride LSTs, users will be able to earn staking rewards on their Cosmos tokens while using Namada’s shielded pool and collecting NAM shielding rewards.”
Zero-Knowledge Tech Powers Enhanced Security
Namada’s MASP leverages zero-knowledge circuit technology, offering similar functionality to Zcash but with the critical advantage of supporting any asset class. This enables Namada to provide modular data protection to various blockchain networks and decentralized applications, facilitating shielded cross-chain transfers. Additionally, Namada’s security scales as more assets are shielded within the network, incentivizing users to contribute to a more robust data protection environment.
Staking tokens are crucial for DeFi, but traditionally, staked tokens cannot be used in other DeFi protocols. LSTs bridge this gap by allowing users to earn staking rewards while simultaneously deploying their tokens as collateral. This makes Stride’s LSTs particularly well-suited for Namada’s shielded set. Users can benefit from both staking rewards and potential NAM rewards while keeping their assets shielded on Namada.
