Bybit, a cryptocurrency trading platform, announced on Thursday that Chinese expats will be allowed to establish accounts and trade digital assets through its service.
“Bybit, one of the world’s top three crypto exchanges by volume, is pleased to announce the expansion of our service offerings to the overseas Chinese community,” the company stated in a statement.
The company said that this decision is in reaction to the growing need for secure, dependable, and user-friendly cryptocurrency trading platforms among Chinese expatriates and overseas Chinese communities.
The news followed allegations on Wednesday that Bybit may have permitted registration and authentication services for users in China, which has long been regarded as a restricted jurisdiction.
The organization also stated that overseas Chinese users will soon be able to register and open accounts on the Bybit platform, with the same benefits as current users.
“Bybit remains committed to adhering to all applicable regulations in the markets we operate in,” it stated, adding that it expects to eventually operate in Hong Kong, the UAE, and the EU.
