OpenAI, the non-profit research company focused on artificial intelligence, has bolstered its leadership team by appointing Sarah Friar as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Kevin Weil as its Chief Product Officer (CPO).
The appointments of Friar and Weil are designed to strengthen OpenAI’s financial and product development capabilities. Sarah Friar and Kevin Weil bring extensive experience to their new roles, aligning with OpenAI’s vision to ensure that artificial general intelligence (AGI) benefits all of humanity.
Sarah Friar, acclaimed for her former role as CEO of Nextdoor and CFO at Square, now takes the helm of OpenAI’s financial operations. Friar is poised to support the organization’s expansive research initiatives and operational scale-up. Her expertise is expected to be pivotal as OpenAI navigates the challenges of a rapidly growing customer base in a dynamic global market.
Moreover, Friar serves on the boards of Walmart and Consensys and holds fellowships at the Aspen Institute and Stanford Digital Economy Lab.
