Robinhood, a prominent trading platform, has launched a new AI tool ‘Harmonic’ which is designed to incorporate advance mathematical reasoning for accurate outputs.
Vlad Tenev, CEO and Co-founder of Robinhood announced this development on Monday, describing Harmonic as a commercial AI research lab focused on building Mathematical Superintelligence (MSI). This advanced model combines AI with mathematical reasoning, boasting higher reasoning power than humans.
Tenev emphasized that while Large Language Models (LLMs) can simulate human languages, they often provide incorrect results or exhibit “hallucinations.” To address this, Harmonic incorporates mathematics as a core component, aiming to eliminate such errors.
Tenev, who pursued a Mathematics PhD before his entrepreneurial journey, believes mathematics is key to defining and aligning on a common truth, which is fundamental to scientific discovery.
Contrary to top researchers, Robinhood developed Harmonic as a direct solution for mathematical reasoning and hallucination challenges, ensuring accurate outputs. This AI tool offers a valuable resource with no hallucination errors, benefiting humanity.
In terms of operations, Harmonic will function independently from Robinhood’s financial services. Stanford University graduate Tudor Achim will lead Harmonic as its CEO. Tenev mentioned that more updates on Harmonic will be shared as the project progresses.
Despite facing regulatory challenges with the SEC, Robinhood achieved significant milestones, including announcing plans to acquire Bitstamp for $200 million last week.
Harmonic’s integration of AI and mathematics sets it apart from other AI tools, and Robinhood is confident in its potential to serve humanity effectively. As the project evolves, Harmonic could become a vital tool in various fields, providing accurate and reliable results.
