Former U.S. President Donald Trump has further advanced his support for the cryptocurrency industry and vowed to stop what he called Joe Biden’s “war on crypto” if elected president again in 2024.
Speaking to supporters in West Palm Beach, Florida on June 14th, Trump stated: “I will end Joe Biden’s war on crypto. We will make sure the future of crypto and Bitcoin happens in America. We’re going to keep it here, and a lot will be done right here in Florida.”
Trump’s comments continue his recent criticism of the Biden administration’s tough stance on cryptocurrencies. Last month, he blasted Biden on Truth Social for wanting crypto “to die a painful death.”
The former president’s promise to make Florida a crypto hub matches the state’s crypto-friendly policies and lack of personal income tax on crypto investments. A recent report named Florida the best state for crypto investors due to its low tax burden.
With the 2024 presidential election on November 5th, the crypto stance shows a clear difference between Trump and Biden. The current president has embraced tighter crypto regulation amid industry scandals.
