American information technology companies Meta and Anthropic are discussing with Apple to integrate their generative AI models into Apple’s new AI system for iPhones.
This comes as Apple aims to integrate technology from various AI companies into its products, including a possible deal with Google.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple is exploring AI partnerships globally, considering restricted markets like China for potential collaborations, with Anthropic as a frontrunner to introduce its generative AI to Apple Intelligence.
Meta and Anthropic did not respond to these discussions, Apple has not responded to requests for comments except during business hours. They are still in progress and might lead to partnerships that would enable the AI firms to increase the reach of their products via Apple’s channel.
It is unclear how much these potential deals are worth, but these negotiations entail AI businesses providing premium access to their services through Apple Intelligence.
Moreover, another AI search startup, Perplexity, has also been reported to be in talks with Apple regarding the integration of its generative AI into Apple Intelligence.
