Michael Dell, the CEO of Dell Technologies, recently conducted a Twitter poll asking followers to choose the most important topic among AI, Bitcoin, love, and relationships, with an option to select none.
Among 64,035 votes, Bitcoin emerged as the top choice, securing approximately 43% of the votes, equating to around 27,520 participants.
The actions of Michael Dell have received attention among the people interested in cryptocurrencies and especially among the supporters of Bitcoin. Dell’s retweet of MicroStrategy founder Michael Saylor’s statement, “Bitcoin is Digital Scarcity,” reinforced the perceived value of Bitcoin due to its limited supply.
The rumour that Dell is set to shift focus on Bitcoin is very similar to the recent rumors about Apple. Michael Saylor once proposed that Apple might transform the financial technology sector by incorporating elements of Bitcoin’s security layer into its environment.
In the same way, higher involvement with Bitcoin might reflect the new direction for Dell Technologies as a part of the constantly evolving sphere of digital finance and assets.
Contrary to Dell’s apparent enthusiasm, Peter Thiel, a well-known investor, recently expressed skepticism about Bitcoin. Thiel stated that he no longer believes in Bitcoin’s potential due to its perceived co-optation and has sold most of his holdings.
