Nasdaq continues to enhance the Boardvantage portal that has recently been enriched with artificial intelligence capabilities with the help of Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI Service. This integration is intended to help board members and executives by automating the summarization and analysis of key documents.
Decision-Making with AI
The latest AI tools are designed to parse and summarize important content such as reports, presentations, and agendas. Consequently, these enhancements assist board members in accessing critical information promptly, which supports more informed decision-making.
Jeff Thomas, Executive Vice President of Nasdaq’s Corporate Platforms business, emphasized, “The document summarization capability is the first of a series of planned AI-enabled offerings for Nasdaq Boardvantage customers as we bring an intelligent layer to the board portal.”
Nasdaq’s collaboration with Microsoft promises further AI developments aimed at boosting productivity and enhancing decision-making processes for over 4,500 clients using Nasdaq Governance Solutions.
Judson Althoff, Microsoft’s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, stated, “By migrating its board portal application Nasdaq Boardvantage to the Microsoft Cloud, Nasdaq is able to unlock new generative AI experiences.”
This integration of the AI in the board process is intended to free the members from tedious board tasks in order to focus on the most important board duties. The move towards AI-based solutions demonstrates a general pattern of board evolution where boards rely more on technology to support their functions and mandate.
