Andrew Tate, the social media influencer behind the memecoin Daddy, announced on Tuesday that travelers can now use Daddy for booking hotels, flights, and cars on the travel site Travala. This development follows a recent Romanian court decision granting Tate and his brother Tristan permission to travel across Europe.
Tate shared the news on X, stating, “To prepare for the $Daddy world tour, you can now purchase car rentals, flights, and hotels directly in $Daddy on Travala.” In a recent video, Tate, 37, expressed his plans to tour the world following his release from house arrest.
Travala, a booking service on Binance’s BNB Smart Chain, allows users to make commission-free transactions. The platform supports bookings for over 2.2 million hotels worldwide using cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Daddy joins a growing list of cryptocurrencies accepted by Travala. The travel agency hinted at the partnership on X, stating, “Something huge and exciting is on the horizon for $Daddy! Keep your eyes peeled and stay tuned.” The controversial influencer later confirmed the deal.
However, Daddy’s price dropped 5% to $0.1601, according to CoinGecko, with a 24-hour trading volume of $13.26 million.
Unlike traditional endorsements by celebrities, Tate has actively issued and backed his Daddy token, marking a new trend of celebrity-driven meme coins. In May, celebrities like Nigerian musician Davido, U.S. media personality Caitlyn Jenner, and rapper Iggy Azalea launched their meme coins on Solana and promoted them on X.
