Polymarket, a decentralized prediction market platform, has seen users placing bets and making predictions regarding the ongoing CrowdStrike outage, which is disrupting IT-related services worldwide, affecting millions of users.
Among the various betting and prediction polls, the trending one titled “CrowdStrike caused by a hack?” has attracted bets worth $29,000 as of the time of writing. Only 4% of bettors are in favor of this bet.
In another poll, a user has posted a bet related to the expected time to resolve the issue associated with CrowdStrike. The prediction, “CrowdStrike outage fixed by Friday night?” has $32,242 staked on it. This betting has 73% of bettors in favor of saying that the issue will be resolved by Friday Night.
The Microsoft outage linked to CrowdStrike has disrupted numerous businesses and services, including airlines, the stock market, the IT sector, banking, and more.
CrowdStrike’s stock is down over 10% in pre-market trading on the NASDAQ. CrowdStrike’s CEO announced at 5:45 PM Hong Kong Time (Friday morning U.S. time) that the issue had been identified and isolated, with a fix being rolled out soon.
